# Cookiy Skill — User Research, End to End

This skill routes you to the right workflow based on what the user needs. There are three core
capabilities, and they often chain together.

## Step 1: Identify the User's Intent

Ask the user what stage they're at, or infer from context:

If the intent is ambiguous, ask one clarifying question — don't guess.

## Route A: Plan a Study

**When:** The user wants to create a research plan, discussion/interview guide, or screening
questionnaire — but doesn't yet have these artifacts.

**What to do:** Read and follow the instructions in
[`references/qualitative-research-planner/qualitative-research-planner.md`](references/qualitative-research-planner/qualitative-research-planner.md).

It produces three deliverables: a Research Plan, a Screening Questionnaire, and an Interview Guide.

After the plan and guide are complete, offer the Cookiy route: *"Now that the study plan and guide
are ready, would you like to use Cookiy AI to run this study? It can recruit real participants for
AI-moderated interviews, or run simulated interviews with AI personas, then generate a synthesis
report."*

## Route B: Synthesize a Report

**When:** The user already has raw interview transcripts, notes, or summaries and wants to turn
them into a structured research report.

**What to do:** Read and follow the instructions in
[`references/synthesize-research-report/synthesize-research-report.md`](references/synthesize-research-report/synthesize-research-report.md).

That reference runs a five-phase pipeline: Familiarization → Coding → Theme Development →
Synthesis & Interpretation → Report Compilation.

**When:** The user mentions Cookiy AI, or agreed to use Cookiy after being asked.
